JOHOR, (SOROT1.ID) — The World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC), a premier global amateur golf tournament, serves not only as a stage for amateur golfers to showcase their skills but also as a means to build strong cross-border relationships. This has been directly experienced by Toni Gosal, the official license holder of WAGC Indonesia, who has loyally participated in this prestigious tournament for over a decade.
Starting his participation in 2014, he has recorded a long journey attending various world final series across different parts of the globe—ranging from Antalya (Turkey), Durban (South Africa), Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, South Korea, to returning once again to Johor, Malaysia, this year.
As the representative of Indonesia that brings around 10 to 16 golfers every year, this consistent participation is not merely about channeling a sports hobby. For this tourism and travel business industry practitioner, WAGC is a strategic platform to expand international networking connections while simultaneously developing business relationships.
“Aside from advancing golf in Indonesia because I am from the Indonesian team, this event is also very useful for advancing my business,” he told Kupas7.id when met in Johor on Friday night (10/30/2026).
He also added that this activity provides a valuable opportunity to meet directly with golfers and professionals from all over the world, ranging from Europe, America, Australia, to Asia. With his status as the official license holder in the homeland, his participation is mandatory to ensure the continuity of the Indonesian delegation on the global stage.
The participation of the Indonesian contingent in this year’s edition concluded with golden achievements. The Red and White golfers successfully secured a series of honorary titles amidst fierce competition from golfers representing 48 countries.
Here are the achievements earned by the Indonesian contingent at the WAGC World Final 2026:
